Television Detection Equipment
Buckman Hardy Associates have been working in collaboration with the BBC since 1997 developing a range of Television Detection Equipment. Initially a handheld two-channel detector was developed and manufactured. The detector picks up small signals emitted by televisions, and by using a combination of analogue and digital signal processing techniques the detector is able to display distance and direction to the nearest television. Subsequently, a miniature version was developed.
Recently, the BBC has ordered further design and development of new instruments; using state of the art techniques to detect modern digital TV’s both in real time and stored programme content. This work is subject to confidentiality agreements and we are unable to divulge any technical details.
